20-year-old man of Kabuyu village, Sankwa Mushabati, has died on the spot after he was hit by a light Benz truck off Great North Road about 50 kilometres of Livingstone town.
The incident occurred on 20th January 2025, at 21:30 hours after the driver of the vehicle loaded with maize seed, 20-year-old Brian Hangoma of Maramba, was reversing westwards.
Southern Province Deputy Commissioner of Police Moono Namalongo noted in an incident statement made available to Byta FM News that the truck was initially stuck in the mud.
Namalongo noted that in the process of the driver trying to remove it from the mud, it went on to run over the pedestrian who was giving a signal from behind.
