Today, we joined other African Heads of State and Government at the Mission 300 Africa Energy Summit in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
This summit aims to accelerate electricity access for 300 million people across Africa by 2030.
Currently, about 685 million people out of over 1 billion in Africa lack reliable access to electricity, and this is a great concern to the continent. This summit was a platform for all of us to come together and find solutions to solving this energy gap.
Energy is a critical component to growing our economies and as leaders, we have committed to find initiatives that we will use to accelerate this ambitious agenda of clean and sustainable renewable energy. And this calls for more investment in the energy sector.
Africa must look within, before seeking solutions outside the continent.
