“The Last Toilets to Be Renovated Will Be Those Used By Councillors And Senior Staff” – Councillor Simataa

Councillor Simataa writes:

For the first time in 3 years and 5 months of being a Councillor, I’m proud to take a selfie from the council public toilet at Civic Centre and show it publicly, something I’d never have done when the toilets where still in their post-Colonial state.

Charity begins at home, and if people judge us by what we wear; so the image of an institution, or even a home, will be judged by the state of its toilets.

As member of the LCC Engineering Services Committee, we resolved to renovate all council run toilets in Lusaka City, Markets and elsewhere, starting with those at our Head Office, civic center.

Furthermore, to ensure that Councillors and management remain committed to this cause for a cleaner and healthier Lusaka, we resolved that the toilets used by decision makers, Councillors and Management, will be the last to be renovated!
