Chingola youth Elijah Simumba has come up with a model of a plane using basic scrap materials.
The mimic plane can accommodate a person and move on the ground.
Simumba will be showcasing the ‘Chingola plane’ at public events.
Simumba,28, of Soweto Township, who started the project last year, explained that he managed to build the plane using basic aviation knowledge acquired from reading related books.
Speaking to Radio Icengelo, Simumba said he now wants to showcase his project at various events in an effort to attract investments from interested persons, especially government institutions.
His father, Albert Simumba, a Mechanic by profession, said the family was amazed by his son’s project and further called on the government to consider taking his son to an aviation school.
