……the Church has a biggest role to play in uniting the people, says Mukandila
Lusaka Lawyer Celestine Mambula Mukandila has observed the need for the country to be united saying Zambia needs the unity of purpose.
Mr Mukandila says the Church has the biggest role to play in ensuring that the people are united beyond ethnic groupings.
The Matero Constituency Patriotic Front strongman said this at Church of God Matero East congregation where he was invited as a Guest of Honor in launching the purchase of a property to construct a bigger church.
Mr Mukandila also pledged undisclosed amount of money towards the project.
“The Church has more work to do than even politicians in promoting good morals in society. We need the unity of purpose in our country. We have the biggest call as a church to unite the country,” he said.
“When we were thinking of the message to give them people of Matero, we came out with a motto of ‘Mukandila Nabakwe 73’. So I will explain to you the big 73 you see on those t-shirts mean. Matero is the Constituency where people from all corners of the country come to settle. When you see that 73 it represents the 73 ethnic groups in the country. For us the message is unity of purpose.”
Mr Mukandila pledged to work with everyone beyond political lines as well as ethnic groupings.
He said even in the management of Constituency Development Fund (CDF), he will ensure that all people benefit despite their political affiliation.
