Chipata Resident Magistrate DESTINY KALUSOPA convicted and fined the five after they pleaded guilty to the charge.

Magistrate KALUSOPA said in default the convicts will serve nine months imprisonment effective June 14 2022, the day of their arrest.

Public Prosecutor ALIBESI SIYUNI told the court that the convicted Nepalese were visiting a relative in Malawi but crossed to Zambia to look for Indian food.

Ms. SIYUNI said the Nepalese did not pass through the Zambia/Malawi border to have their passports stamped and cleared to lawfully enter Zambia.
