Mpika Council shares:The Mpika Town Council Fire Brigade sprang into action this morning when a road traffic accident occurred on the treacherous Danger Hill.
cargo trucks carrying hazardous materials collided, causing a fire to break out. Thanks to the quick response and expertise of firefighter Mwenya Allan and his team, the fire was contained and extinguished in record time.
Fortunately, no fatalities were reported as both drivers managed to escape unscathed.
Mpika Town Council Division Officer, Mr Mukonde, has warned drivers to exercise caution when navigating steep roads and to ensure they have proper fire protection equipment and knowledge.
He says this accident should be a reminder to all truckers to prioritize safety and prevention measures to avoid such incidents in the future.
