Two Chinese Nationals have been arrested by zambia police in Kasempa after shooting a girl aged six years.

Auntie to the deceased Mercy Moze said,the children were playing in a hut shelter when a stray bullet all of a sudden hit the girl in the head and she instantly fell on the ground and died.She further said after that she even picked up the same bullet that hit the girl because it came through where she was sitted.

Prime Television visited the scene and according to the members of the community, the two Chinese nationals were merely testing their personal guns from the pit when they just saw a girl falling to the ground and a bullet was seen at the scene in the teachers compound.

The distance from where the chinese were testing their guns is about 1.2 kilometers away from the teachers compound.

The company could not comment on the matter to prime television stating that police are investigating the case.

Northwestern province police commissioner Brighton Siwale has also confirmed to Prime Television Zambia in a statement that Zheng Chencheng aged 44 years who was using a Taurus pistol of 9mm, and Wan Rong Gen aged 48 years who was using a sigsauer p320 pistol of 45mm were testing their pistols inside the mine area. Whilst testing they were shooting facing southern direction where Jifumpa Primary School is located. In the process a stray bullet landed on Kuwama Mutumbwe who was standing in a grass thatched shelter at Jifumpa Primary School Teachers’ compound on her head and caused her to sustain gunshot wounds on her head.

The two are now at Solwezi central police station in custody whilst the deceased was put to rest yesterday in chief Ingwe’s Royal cemetery after postmortem was conducted from Mufumbwe district hospital since in Kasempa district there is no expert at Mukinge hospital where the body was deposited.
