Four Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) drivers have completed a VIP and defensive driving course at the Zambia Police Training College in Lilayi recently.
Speaking at the closing ceremony on behalf of the Division Commander, Mubita Nawa Deputy Commissioner of Police, Senior Superintendent Francis Sichula Officer-in-Charge of the Driving School praised the ZRA for partnering with the Zambia Police Service in capacity building.
Mr. Nawa said such collaborations improve road safety and enhance service delivery.
“Drivers transporting VIPs need not only exceptional driving skills but also discipline, awareness, and sound judgment,” he said. “A driver’s conduct reflects on the organization they serve, and professionalism must be maintained at all times.
”He encouraged the participants to apply their new skills in every assignment, stressing that each trip requires precision, patience, and responsibility.
The training covered techniques for handling high-profile passengers, responding to hazards, and ensuring the safety of passengers and other road users.
It also prepared the drivers to stay calm under pressure, make quick decisions, and reduce risks in both routine and emergency situations.
