‎‎Kitwe District Commissioner, Oncemore Ngonomo, has strongly condemned the poor service delivery being experienced in several government departments across the district.

Mr Ngonomo attributed the situation to weak leadership and poor accountability by some heads of government departments.

‎‎Speaking during a meeting with a delegation from the Zambia Union of Government and Allied Workers, Mr Ngonomo expressed concern that many senior officers report late for work, a practice he said disrupts daily operations and inconveniences members of the public seeking essential services.‎‎

“We have some local authorities that are failing to collect garbage in townships owing to inefficiency and lack of accountability,” he said.‎‎

Meanwhile, Zambia Union of Government and Allied Workers president, Kabisa Muyaywa, reaffirmed the union’s commitment to upholding discipline in the public sector
