A 68-Year-old man in Chief Msoro, Mambwe District of Eastern Province, has been allegedly murdered and buried in a stream by unknown individuals.

Eastern Province Police Commissioner Robertson Mweemba confirmed the incident, stating that it occurred between August 20, 2025, around 18:00 hours, and August 26, 2025, around 06:00 hours, at Mtetezi Stream.

The deceased, Henry Nkhoma, went missing on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, around 18:00 hours after being last seen at his younger brother Steven Zulu’s house, where he had supper and was said to have left for his home.

However, Mr. Mweemba says it’s alleged that Mr. Nkhoma did not reach his house.

He says relatives started searching for him, and on August 26, 2025, around 06:00 hours, children who took cattle for grazing discovered a human leg in a bent position, buried in a shallow grave.

Mr. Mweemba says they immediately informed the deceased’s farm neighbor, Robert, who later informed the deceased’s brother Steven Zulu.

He says Mr. Zulu rushed to the scene and suspected that the body part could belong to his missing brother.

Mr. Mweemba says no arrests have been made, and investigations have been instituted into the matter.
