A 13-year-old girl from chief Kalasalukangaba’s area has allegedly been repeatedly defiled by an unidentified truck driver in Mansa district.
Luapula Province Police Commanding Officer, Mwala Yuyi, disclosed that the minor was able to identify the vehicle which the alleged defiler drives.
The suspect was driving a blue and white Scania truck.
According to Mr Yuyi, the incident began on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at approximately 14:40 hours.
He said the victim had left her parents’ home in Manda Hill village for a walk along Chembe road. “When she reached ECO Filling Station, she was called by a man she was meeting for the first time, who had parked a Scania truck at the station. The suspect asked her to join him in the truck,” Mr Yuyi stated.
He further explained that once the victim was inside, the driver proceeded towards Kampalala check point.
A few metres before the checkpoint, he parked the truck off the road and défiled the girl inside the vehicle.
“Around 20:00 hours, the victim asked the defiler to take her to her parents’ home, but he told her it was late and promised to take her in the morning,” Mr Yuyi said.
Mr Yuyi said the victim spent the night with the perpetrator in the truck, during which time he had s£xual intercourse with her on several occasions.
He said the following morning, the minor was given K10 for transport and returned home.
The Luapula Province Police Commanding Officer said although no arrest has been made, police have launched an investigation to apprehend the culprit.
