This morning together with the residents of Monze Urban Ward and the surrounding areas, we proudly gathered to witness the commissioning of the newly constructed Chibuyu Police Post. This facility replaces the one that was unfortunately gutted in February 2020 during the gassing incidences that brought fear and insecurity to our communities.
Today marks a new chapter. The official reopening of this Police Post stands not only as a symbol of resilience but also as a reminder that the destruction of public facilities is an assault on the very safety and well-being of our people. I therefore wish to make a passionate call to all members of the public to guard jealously and never again destroy facilities meant to protect and serve them.
As the Area Member of Parliament, I take pride in this achievement because security is a cornerstone of sustainable development. With this Police Post now fully operational, our communities can look forward to improved law enforcement, quicker response times and a greater sense of safety and order.
To further strengthen the capacity of our hardworking officers stationed here, I have donated two motorbikes to Chibuyu Police Post. These will greatly enhance mobility and efficiency in carrying out patrols, crime prevention and other duties aimed at safeguarding our communities.
The New Dawn Government under the leadership of President Hakainde Hichilema remains committed to ensuring peace, safety and security for all Zambians. Together, we must continue to build communities that are safe, united and prosperous.
Hon. Jack J. Mwiimbu, SC, MPMP, Monze Central | Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security.
