The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) has seized over K3.7 million and USD 3,091 in an enforcement operation against non-compliant mining firms in Kasempa District.
The targeted companies include Katenge Resources Ltd, Ken Reliable, Sunion Investment, and Sino Octascene.
ZRA Corporate Communications Manager Oliver Nzala says during the raid, Sino Octascene director Huang Qingyi was arrested after allegedly attempting to bribe a ZRA officer with K10,000 and has since been handed over to the Anti-Corruption Commission for further investigation.
Mr. Nzala says the operation underscores the Authority’s zero-tolerance stance on corruption and its commitment to protecting national revenue through continued enforcement in the mining sector.
