President Lazarus Chakwera has dissolved his Cabinet with immediate effect, just hours before Malawians head to the polls.
According to a statement from the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC), the move has been made under Section 92(2) of the Constitution of Malawi, which empowers the President to dissolve the Cabinet.
The OPC further announced that all ministerial functions will now be exercised directly by the President, and all inquiries to government ministries should be directed to the OPC.
