MINISTRY OF EDUCATION BARS TEACHERS FROM VOTER REGISTRATION EXERCISE
The Ministry of Education has directed teachers and head teachers who applied to participate in the forthcoming voter registration exercise to immediately withdraw.
Ministry of Education Assistant Director for Communication, Kunda Mando, said that the third term is crucial for winding up the syllabus and preparing learners for end-of-year examinations.
Ms Mando explained that teachers’ absence for 60 days would negatively affect pupil-teacher contact time, potentially disrupting exam preparation.
She has since instructed District Education Board Secretaries (DEBS) to ensure all teachers remain in schools and complete the syllabus.
