Renowned radio presenter and newscaster Lungowe Simbotwe has been laid to rest at Lusaka’s Memorial Park today.The burial was attended by musicians, actors, journalists, colleagues from the media and friends, all gathered to bid farewell to the vibrant broadcaster.
Family members paid glowing tributes, describing her as a loving and cheerful person whose presence lit up every room. Zambia Association of Musicians president Brian Bwembya, popularly known as B-Flow, led fellow artistes in a moving tribute to her life and career.
A representative of her employer, Hot Media Group, said her passing was a huge loss to the organization, noting her dedication and professionalism.
Simbotwe, who died on Tuesday, is survived by four children.
Beyond her broadcasting career, she promoted body positivity through her “Phat Fab” campaign, which celebrated plus-size women living fabulous and confident lives, challenging societal beauty standards.
