Fellow Citizens,
As we celebrate this momentous day, we reflect on the transformative power of tourism to drive economic growth, bridge cultures, and showcase Zambia’s unparalleled beauty. As Citizens First, we envision Zambia as the premier destination in Africa and beyond, capitalising on our vibrant cultural heritage, warm hospitality, and breathtaking landscapes.
To realise this vision, under the Citizens First government, we will implement strategic initiatives to expand our tourism market, diversify offerings, and attract global visitors. We’ll elevate events like the Absa Marathon, Elephant Charge, Siavonga fishing competition, and others to international standards in order to attract global interest while introducing innovative projects like the Metro Bus city tour system. This will enhance mobility, link youth to tourism opportunities, and create new revenue streams for our youth.
Under President Dr Harry Kalaba, We’ll prioritize infrastructure development, collaborating with key sectors to improve transportation networks and accessibility to our tourist destinations. Our inclusive approach will engage stakeholders, boost tourism’s contribution to our GDP, and transform the sector into a heavyweight contributor to our economy, moving beyond our reliance on mining alone.
As Citizens First, we believe that tourism is not just about visitors; it’s about jobs, livelihoods, identity, and pride. With determination, innovation, and unity, the Citizens First government will make Zambia a beacon of sustainable tourism and a true jewel of Africa.
On this International Tourism Day, let’s commit to this shared vision. Together, we can make Zambia shine as the destination of choice, for the world and for generations to come.
Happy International Tourism Day!
