A man identified as Aswell Banda whose age and residence have not been established has died in a tragic accident at the ongoing Chadiza Road construction site this morning.
Eyewitnesses told Chipata Legacy that Banda attempted to position himself behind a reversing construction truck, intending to be ferried across part of the the 10-kilometer stretch currently under construction.
However, the driver was reportedly unaware of his presence. Banda slipped and fell to the ground, where he was fatally run over by the vehicle’s wheels.
Police have not issued a statement over the incident.
