A deadly road traffic accident has taken the lives of two individuals, a police officer and a member of the ruling United Party for National Development (UPND).
The accident involved a Toyota Hilux traveling from Kasempa to Lusaka via Mumbwa.
According to authorities, the deceased are Mr. Davies Moyo Mbeki of the UPND, and Inspector Liswaniso Liswaniso of State House.
Occupants who survived are identified as Mr. Roy Maanu of the UPND Youth Wing (National) and Lance Corporal Alex Choongo of the Commando Unit, Emmasdale.
The UPND expressed deep sadness regarding the death, describing Mr. Mbeki as a committed member of the party, and that he worked tirelessly for the party’s cause, especially in the 2016 campaign period.
