(NAIS) Agriculture Minister REUBEN MTOLO has directed the Food Reserve Agency –FRA- in North-Western Province to ensure that all maize stocks are properly secured.
Speaking during a tour of selected FRA depots in the region, Mr. MTOLO said the agency is fully responsible for safeguarding the maize stored at its facilities until the buying process is complete.
He noted that, given the early onset of rains in North-Western Province, the FRA must take extra measures to prevent any potential losses.
The Minister also urged all government departments in the affected districts to monitor the situation closely and collaborate with the FRA to ensure that no maize is lost or wasted.
