The Economic and Financial Crimes Court has refused to grant bail pending appeal to jailed former Secretary to the Treasury Fredson Yamba.
Acting chief resident magistrate Ireen Wishimanga dismissed Mr Yamba’s bail application because it lacks merit.
Last month, magistrate Wishimanga imposed a three-year jail term on Mr Yamba after convicting him on allegations of wilful failure to follow procedure relating to the purchase of a chancery in Turkey.
