The Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) has proposed that the National Day of Prayer, Fasting, Repentance, and Reconciliation be commemorated alongside the Declaration of Zambia as a Christian Nation.
EFZ Executive Director Bishop Andrew Mwenda says both events share similar values and objectives and combining them would help maximize their spiritual and national impact.
Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka, Bishop Mwenda suggested that the commemoration could either be held on 18th October or 29th December, depending on government consideration.
“The Church is, however, excited that going forward, Government has agreed to include this important day in the national budget,” said Bishop Mwenda.
Meanwhile, Bishop Mwenda disclosed that the Church is still awaiting guidance from the Government on the completion of the National House of Prayer.
He added that the EFZ has already submitted documents emphasizing the urgency of completing the project and is now waiting for feedback from the authorities.
