The Government has released over 17 million kwacha, the remaining balance owed to farmers in Chama District of Eastern Province.

Chama District Commissioner, Yobe Goma, confirmed the development to Kwenje Radio News and encouraged farmers to use the money wisely, particularly to buy farming inputs.

Mr. Goma said that with the rainy season already underway, farmers can begin planting, adding that the rains in the district have so far been favourable.

He expressed optimism that Chama is expected to record a bumper harvest in the 2025/2026 farming season.

Meanwhile, the District Commissioner further advised farmers to remember to set aside some money for school uniforms.
