Chipata Peace Advocate Has Left for Lusaka on a Walk to Promote Unity Ahead of the 2026 General Elections.

A Chipata-based peace advocate, Morgan Banda, has embarked on a walk from Chipata to Lusaka to promote unity and peace ahead of the 2026 general elections.

Mr. Banda started the journey today, describing the walk as a personal commitment to encouraging Zambians to uphold peace, tolerance and national unity as the country approaches next year’s election.

Speaking shortly before starting off, Mr. Banda said elections should never divide the nation or lead to violence, adding that every citizen has a responsibility to protect the peace Zambia has enjoyed since independence.

Mr. Banda said the initiative is aimed at reminding young people not to be used as tools of violence.
