Presidential candidate pledges detailed policy plans with timelines and accountability

The People’s Pact will present Zambians with concrete solutions on energy, mining, healthcare, agriculture, and industry, complete with timelines and costs – Dr. Fred M’membe has announced in his New Year’s message as the opposition’s presidential candidate.

“The time for chipantepante politics is over. Our people do not need more rhetoric. They do not need promises while their stomachs remain empty. They need clear solutions with accountability,” Dr. M’membe declared.

The People’s Pact candidate outlined policy commitments:

  • Energy: A concrete plan to end load-shedding through diversified generation and transmission investment “We will tell you how, when, and at what cost”
  • Mining: Fair taxation and value addition so copper creates jobs here, not abroad
  • Healthcare: Training, retaining, and employing all medical staff; no Zambian denied treatment due to poverty
  • Agriculture: Support for small-scale farmers and agro-processing development
  • Industry: Protection of Zambian businesses and job creation for youth

“These are not slogans. These are commitments we will put before you in detail. Judge us by them,” he said.

Dr. M’membe challenged all political leaders to do the same: “Tell the people – how will you end load-shedding? By when? At what cost? How will you create jobs? What industries? Where? How many?”

He urged Zambians to reject personality politics and demand substance: “You are not voting for a president. You are voting for a programme. You are voting for a future.”
