The Department of Immigration has noted the circulation of a recruitment advert on social media inviting applications for positions of Immigration Assistants/Border Guards and wishes to state that the advert is fake and misleading. It was not issued by the Department, and there is no ongoing
recruitment exercise. Members of the public are therefore advised to disregard the advert.
The Department does not recruit through unofficial channels or unverified email addresses. All legitimate recruitment notices are communicated through official Government platforms and credible national media.
The public is further urged not to submit personal documents in response to the advert, as this may expose them to fraud or identity theft.
“We are taking steps to identify the author of the fake advert and encourage anyone with information on the source of the advert to report to relevant authorities.”
