Yesterday, Brian Mundubile called on opposition leaders to unite and form a strong front to unseat President Hakainde Hichilema in the upcoming elections. While the call for unity is commendable, leadership is not just about words—it is about action.

If his intentions are truly genuine and not driven by political convenience, then he must demonstrate it. Let him take the bold step of joining existing opposition movements such as the Zambia Must Prosper (ZMP), the Socialist Party, or the Citizens First. By doing so, he would prove to Zambians that his call for unity is rooted in selflessness, not ambition.

True leadership inspires confidence. It does not summon others from a distance—it steps forward first.
