Investigations have revealed that PATRICIA DAKA, the Copperbelt woman who was found dead at her boyfriend’s apartment in Kitwe’s Nkana East, died from suffocation.
Copperbelt Province Police Commanding Officer MWALA YUYI says the findings were contained in the post-mortem results, adding that Ms DAKA, aged 25, has since been buried.
Mr. YUYI has also disclosed that Ms. DAKA’s boyfriend, EMMANUEL MWAANGA, who remains admitted to Kitwe Teaching Hospital, has been placed under police guard as a murder suspect.
The naked body of Ms. DAKA was discovered on a bed, while Mr. MWAANGA was found unconscious on the floor on Sunday, May 3, 2026, after the pair were last seen the previous day.
Meanwhile, a seven-year-old girl identified as GLORIA MWIMANZI of Chingola has died after being attacked by a crocodile along the Chabanyama Stream.
Mr. MWALA said the incident occurred yesterday while the girl was on a fishing trip with her aunt and other people.
