A 53-year-old man from Tulonga village in Sinazongwe’s Mweemba chiefdom has reportedly been murdered by his 28-year-old daughter.
The deceased has been identified as Sternly Siamalala, with his daughter being Elizabeth Siamalala.
Around 18:00 hours on 8th June, 2026, the deceased went to the house of his former wife within the same village, where he found his three daughters, including the suspect.
The deceased reportedly became aggressive and attacked his daughters after they told him their mother was not at home following his inquiry about her whereabouts.
During the ordeal, the deceased allegedly picked a burnt brick and threw it at the suspect, however missing the target, and later threw a wooden stool at her, which he also misdirected.
The suspect is said to have picked the same wooden stool and struck her father once, causing him to fall on the ground and shortly succumb to the attack.
Southern Province Commissioner of Police, Moono Namalongo, says officers who visited the scene found the deceased lying on his back.
He notes that a physical inspection of the corpse revealed a deep cut on the right side of the forehead with blood oozing from the injury.
Namalongo says the suspect has been detained in lawful police custody.
