COPPERBELT Province Police Commanding Officer Mwala Yuyi has dismissed allegations that police ordered Tonse Alliance presidential candidate Brian Mundubile and his running mate Makebi Zulu to leave Ndola ahead of President Hakainde Hichilema’s visit to the city.

Speaking in an interview, Mr. Yuyi said claims that the opposition leaders were being forced out of the province were false.

He explained that police officers deployed around Fatmols Lodge were carrying out routine security duties and were not targeting the two politicians.

“I don’t even remember the last time I spoke to those two. I think I last spoke to those people some three years ago,” Mr. Yuyi said.

Mr Yuyi clarified that he had neither instructed nor attempted to remove Mr. Mundubile and Mr. Zulu from the Copperbelt, saying that he had no authority to prevent any citizen from being in the province.
