Two men have been arrested in separate operations targeting drug trafficking in Isoka and Masaiti districts.
In Isoka, 29-year-old Mackson Kaonga was arrested in Malango Village after being found with 34.6 kilogrammes of dry loose cannabis allegedly intended for distribution.
The Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) said Kaonga is suspected of being a major cannabis supplier in Malango and surrounding areas.
In a separate operation, 29-year-old Francis Chinama of Kapapula Village in Masaiti District was arrested and charged with trafficking in loose cannabis.
The DEC said Chinama was found with 283 balls of cannabis weighing a combined 1.3 kilogrammes.
The arrests were made through operations involving DEC officers and the Zambia Police Service.
Both suspects are currently in lawful custody as they await court proceedings.
The DEC has warned members of the public against involvement in drug trafficking and urged communities to report suspected criminal activities to law enforcement agencies.
