POLICE OFFICER SENTENCED TO DEATH BY HANGING OVER MURDER

The Lusaka High Court has sentenced a police officer to death by hanging for allegedly shooting dead a passenger in 2020.

This is in a case Mazuba Mwiinga, 47, was charged with the murder of Hillary Kapyanga on July 20, 2020 near the Shimabala Toll Plaza, this is according to a report in the Zambia Daily Mail

The officer allegedly ordered that the truck the victim was on be parked at a lay by near the toll plaza.

The now convict later dragged Kapyanga out of the vehicle and later shot him while three other passengers who were on the truck fled to alert other officers about the conduct of their colleague.
