27 YEAR OLD LUSAKA WOMAN RAPED, MURDERED

A 27 year old Lusaka Woman by the name of RABECCA BUSUMILI has been raped and murdered by unknown people in Zingalume Township.

According to a report published by ZNBC, the body of RABECCA was found few meters away from her house with her clothes scattered.

Some residents found the body around 05:00 hours in the morning.

Aunt of the Deceased JANET ZULU says the victim left home on Saturday around 16:00 hours and never came back.

And Police Spokesperson RAE HAMOONGA has confirmed the incident stating that investigations have since been instituted.

Mr. HAMOONGA says the body of the deceased has since been taken to the University Teaching Hospital – UTH mortuary.

Meanwhile, some residents have called for increased Police presence in the area.

They have bemoaned the increase in criminal gangs known as Junkies that are terrorising the community.

The residents have since implored authorities to operationalise the Mwembeshi Police Post to curb criminality in the area.
