Suspected United Party for National Development UPND cadres allegedly locked the main entrance to Lundazi Town council this morning.

Lundazi Town Council Chairperson Golden Tembo who confirmed to Breeze FM News, says some council officers found the main entrance to the offices locked around 05 hours this morning.

Mr. Tembo explained that the cadres are alleging that the number of approved projects for youth and women cooperatives under CDF, the Constituency Development Fund for the party in the district is less.

Mr. Tembo has wondered why people are politicking when the funds are supposed to benefit all the members of the public regardless of their political affiliation.

He has called on members of the public to equip themselves with the CDF guidelines, in order to avoid any confusion, adding that public offices need to be respected for services to be delivered effectively.

A total of 38 projects for youth and women cooperatives have been approved for the grant funding, under CDF in Lundazi district.

Meanwhile, UPND Provincial Chairperson Johabie Mtonga says he is still investigating the matter.
