SQUASH – UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM HOCKEY AND SQUASH CENTRE

Team Zambia’s Kundanji Kalengo was crowned champion of the Men’s Singles Plate event at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games after defeating Muqtadir Sadruddin Nimji of Kenya via a 3-0 score line.

Congratulations Kundanji!!!!

ATHLETICS – ALEXANDER STADIUM

Niddy Mingilishi posted a time of 54.30 to finish 7th in Heat 1 of the Women’s 400m event. She missed out on qualification to the next round.

Men’s 400m Round 1

African Champion Muzala Samukonga and Kennedy Luchembe have qualified to the semi-finals of the Men’s 400m event after posting times of 44.89 (Personal Best for Muzala) and 46.74 respectively.

Both will be in action on Friday 5th July 2022.

Team Zambia’s Chongo Mulenga lost against Muhammad Irfan Saeed Bhatti of Pakistan via a 2-0 Score line

Women’s Doubles Round of 32 – Court 2

Elizabeth Chipeleme and Ogar Siamupangila lost against Tara Jinee Lorna Bodha and Kobits Dookhee of Mauritius

Men’s Singles Round of 64 – Court 3

Kalombo Mulenga recorded a 2-0 win against Zaki Shaheed of the Maldives to proceed to the last 32 of the competition.

Team Zambia’s Elizabeth Chipeleme lost to Jessica Li from the Isle of Man via a 2-0 scoreline.

Mixed Doubles Round of 64 – Court 2

The mixed doubles pair of Chongo Mulenga and Elizabeth Chipeleme lost to Evans Kelvin Alphous and Prospera Nantuo of Ghana via a 2-0 Score line.

CYCLING MOUNTAIN BIKE – CANNOCK CHASE FOREST

Men’s Cross Country

Team Zambia’s Davies Kawemba and Oberd Chembe took 22nd and 25th Position in the Men’s Cross-Country final.

BOXING – NEC Hall 4

Women’s 45-48kg (Minimumweight) Quarter-final

Margret Tembo lost to Team England’s Demie-Jade Resztan via a unanimous point decision after three rounds.
