MUZALA STORMS 400 METRES FINAL AT COMMONWEALTH GAMES

Men’s 4x400m Relay quartet of Muzala Samukonga, Kennedy Luchembe, David Mulenga and Patrick Nyambe have qualified to the final of the event after clocking of 3:06.02s to take third position in Heat 1.

Women’s 200m Semi-finalist Rhoda Njobvu missed out on a finals spot after clocking 23.72s to take 4th position in Heat 2.

Men’s 400m

Muzala Samukonga has qualified to the final of the Men’s 400m after clocking a time of 46.06s to take second position in Heat 2. On the other hand, Kennedy Luchembe missed out on a spot in the final after clocking a time of 47.22 in Heat 3.

Men’s Doubles pair of Kalombo Mulenga and Chongo Mulenga lost with a 2-0 score line against Daniel Wanagaliya and Brian Kasirye of Uganda.

Team Zambia’s Kalombo Mulenga lost two straight sets against Julien Georges Paul of Mauritius in the Men’s Singles Round of 16.
