Commerce Trade and Industry Minister, Chipoka Mulenga says government expects to see reduction in prices of cement.

Mulenga notes that government has put in place measures that have triggered reductions in the price of cement from its current average price of K150 per standard bag.

The Minister says frequent engagements with cement manufacturers has also been key in the reduction of Cement Prices.

Mulenga adds that cement manufacturers were also affected by the high inflation rate which was at about 24 percent when the UPND took office.

He however says that with the figure now in single digits, manufacturers stand to benefit from the development.
