Residents of Kamwala south, yellow shop, Libala, Kamulanga and surrounding areas have gotten their wish as area councillor Mainda Simataa has delivered a deal that allows flash buses to operate in the area. He writes…
“I’ve acted on Kamwala residents complaints about continued harrasment by unruly cadres posing as drivers, conductors and call-boys running a syndicate of extortion on several illegal bus stations.”
Councillor Simataa says it’s time to give people a choice, adding that flash will bring much needed sanity and competition with the attributes it’s loved for; such as respect for passengers, safety, quick movement, fair prices, and comfort.
And Flash Buses Head of Operations Ahmed Kankara who has allocated 10 buses from his fleet, says they are grateful for the support, having suffered much violence in the past. “We stand ready to serve the people of Kamwala with respect and fairness.”
Councillor Simataa has also taken precaution to inform Zambia Police to be on hand, should their intervention to preserve public order and security arise.
