About 26 fathers across the country have rejected paternity of children on suspicion that they were not their biological off-spring.
Zambia Daily Mail reports that Concerned Citizens for Justice and Human Rights (CCJHR) said it has recorded a worrying pattern of fathers rejecting their children in the month of August.
CCJHR director Richard Nkhuwa said his organisation recorded 10 cases in Lusaka, three in Mazabuka, three in Monze three in Nega Nega and seven in Stumbeko area.
Mr Nkhuwa said there is need for men to take responsibility for their children to avoid them ending up in the streets.
“We have a situation where men are rejecting their children because they suspect that they may be someone’s children, which is creating a big problem for women.
