A twenty-four-year-old grade 12 pupil in Ndola has spurned her mother’s plea to complete secondary school in favour of marriage in a one-room house.
According to Sunday Times, Martha Mwila told the court that she wanted to get married to the man that had impregnated her because no one else would take care of her child.
Martha’s mother Charity Mwila, 43, sued Wilson Chibesa, 27, saying he eloped with her daughter without her consent and demanded that he return her home so that she could continue with her education.
