Zambia will soon embrace the technology of constructing concrete roads in the hope of extending the lifespan of the country’s road infrastructure to about 50 years, says Road Development Agency (RDA) acting director of communications and corporate affairs Anthony Mulowa.

Despite being a costly undertaking, Mr Mulowa said the concept is worth pursuing, especially on roads that experience heavy usage by trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles.

“The Government intends to embrace the aspect using cement and other natural materials to construct concrete roads because this technology helps to prolong the lifespan of the roads to about 50 years.

“Yes, it is costly but it is a matter under serious consideration due its long-term benefits” He said. This is contained in a report published by Zambia Daily Mail.
