A TANZANIAN businessman who had claimed ownership of the 51 houses and plots in Chalala had engaged a Ministry of Finance and National Planning accountant to invest in real estate valued at about US$200,000 on his behalf.
An Economic and Financial Crimes Court heard yesterday that Uziel Bashire invested US$192,000 (over K920,000) in developing the properties and US$35,000 (over K168,000) in buying the plots.
This is in a case two civil servants are charged with concealment and possession of property suspected to be proceeds of crime . This is contained in a report published by Zambia Daily mail.
