This Rainy/Festive Season, May Living to See Another Day be More Superior than Having a Right of Way on Our Roads.

As we drive, may we judge road situations cautiously; give chance or seek chance respectfully, where it is needed. Don’t be like ba Lusaka. The moment you indicate to join a lane, they hit the peddle.

May texting or talking on the phone be done when we’ve laid-by. Or, may we use headsets or speak on loud speaker.

May we Not only fasten seatbelts when we’ve seen traffic police.

May the motorists, cyclists, bikers consider the pedestrian on sidewalks, pedestrian crossing, especially on muddy roads; kindly reduce the speed and avoid ruining someone’s day by splashing mud or stagnant water on them.

Mark X and Hilux drivers, please reduce on your insatiable desire to overtake every vehicle there’s, on the road. Start off early, and drive at moderate speeds. We know your cars ‘are one of the best’ there’s. ????

May those that modify their vehicles do it moderately. Those blinding lights you mount on your vehicles are hazardous to other road users. May we use the high beams only when necessary. May you consider reducing lights when you see an oncoming vehicle flash you and your high beams are on. The light from your vehicle may be blinding or hurting their eye.

May we have our lights on, on highways or residentials, especially when it is raining ???? or it is cloudy despite it being day time. It helps other road users to spot you, easily. Time for utuma fog lights. Mark X drivers, have you heard?

Let’s further protect our vehicles from damage by avoiding parking under trees ???? or unfit buildings. We’re in a season where you can’t predict the weather correctly.

Also, when parking in the parking lot, mind how you open the doors; chimababa when someone slams your poor door with theirs and only say, sorry.

Add your thoughts; otherwise, our roads are only safe if we collectively act to prevent road carnage.

NOTE: I’m not claiming to be a road traffic expert but a brother’s and sister’s keeper.
