The latest Zambia Population-based HIV/AIDS Impact Assessment (ZAMPHIA) shows that Lusaka has the highest HIV prevalence rate at 14.4 percent, with Northern Province the lowest at 5.8 percent.

The prevalence rate is for adults aged 15 years and above.

For the previous ZAMPHIA report of 2016, Western Province had the highest prevalence rate with 15.9 percent while Muchinga had the lowest at 5.7 percent.

According to the 2021 ZAMPHIA report released on Thursday, Western Province now has the second highest prevalence rate at 13.6, followed by Southern Province at 13.2 percent.
