The Consumer Unity and Trust Society (CUTS) Zambia has demanded that the government makes public information on Zambia’s current debt.

CUTS also wants the government to provide a timeline for debt restructure in the spirit of transparency and accountability.

CUTS Zambia programs officer Allan Chanda Chitwamali said during a briefing today that the government should work with stakeholders such as civil society organizations and the media in making public information regarding the country’s debt. publishing a timeline of the debt

She further said it was up to the Minister of Finance to lead the way in public disclosure of information and to expedite the establishment of the debt office that will play a key role in providing oversight.
