A Lusaka man who killed Kabwata UPND lawmaker Levy Mkandawire has been sentenced to 12 months’ simple imprisonment.
According to the Zambia Daily Mail, High Court judge Ruth Chibbabbuka, who handed down the verdict a short while ago, ruled that Alick Jeta Kalenga did not waste the court’s time, was remorseful and pleaded guilty to the offense.
The offense of causing death by dangerous driving attracts K9,000 fine or up to five years imprisonment.
