Members of the community in Kasombo area of Luanchuma ward in Lukulu district have taken it upon themselves to construct five temporal houses for 12 newly recruited teachers at Kasombo Primary School.

A school that had four teachers against nine classes will now have a total of 16, a situation that has cheered the community.

Parents Teachers Association PTA members found constructing the houses within the school premises said for the past 58 years, they have never witnessed a sitting head of state giving the community such a huge number of teachers to the school.

After realising that the teachers are facing accommodation challenges, they met and resolved that community members from each household contribute poles, fibre and grass towards the construction of the five houses.

Each house to be belt will temporary accommodate two teachers and the construction process is expected to be completed at the end of October this year.

The PTA members have since assured the newly recruited teachers that they will do everything possible to make them feel at home as their stay will help alleviate the teacher-pupil ratio challenge at the school. This is contained in a report published by Lukulu Fm.
