Czech Republic remains committed to supporting Zambia’s development journey, says Milan Kalců from Economic and development section at the
Czech Embassy in Zambia.

In a statement to commemorate Caritas Czech Republic’s 10 years of of their assistance to Zambia, Kalců said as a reliable implementing partner, Caritas had helped extend donors’ reach and increase the life quality of Zambia’s most vulnerable groups.

“Recognizing their commendable efforts, the Czech Embassy in Lusaka expresses its gratitude to Caritas Czech Republic for their continuous dedication and positive work. Their commitment has improved lives and brought hope and motivation to the communities they serve,” Kalců stated.

He stated that Caritas Czech Republic had been actively involved in uplifting communities in the Western, Southern and Lusaka provinces as well as the Meheba and Mayukwayukwa refugee settlements.

“They have focused on helping vulnerable people with essential issues like social protection and support, education, nutrition and agriculture,” Kalců stated.

In the Western and Southern provinces, Caritas Czech Republic had been teaching communities better farming techniques to production of more nutrient-rich food for their livelihoods, he added.

“In Lusaka, they have been working to ensure that those in need of extra help can get the necessary protection and support. In the refugee settlements, they have been a lifeline for those who have had to leave their homes, providing them with the aid needed, hope and motivation during challenging times,” stated Kalců .

“Caritas Czech Republic is proud to partner with organizations such as the Czech Development Agency (CzechAid), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and the World Food Programme (WFP), to name a few.”
