A 12-year-old boy has drowned in a disused quarry in Lusaka’s Jamaica area in Barlaston.
FRANCIS KANGWA in the company of five friends is reported to have gone swimming in the pen pit which was filled with rainy water.
The deceased’s aunt, MAGGIE MULENGA says the boy was last seen yesterday around 10 hours, and the family started a search for him after he failed to return home.
Ms MULENGA has explained that the family only discovered that FRANCIS had drowned after one of his friends confided in their parents.
The body of the boy has been retrieved.
